Kingsford Tutoring: Specialist tutors helping students reach their academic potential

Description text goes hereUnlike learning in school, our tutors provide tailored teaching to students. We use an ‘SCP’ approach:

SYLLABUS: We provide the rationale for the learning. I.e. what the syllabus states the student must know.

CONTENT: Tutors simply and clearly explain concepts.

PRACTISE: By providing exam-style questions to complete in-session and for homework, students will learn to practically apply the content they learn from the syllabus.

Our staff are subject to a vigorous selection process. Tutors must graduate in the top 5% of the state, have scored over 90% in the HSC subject they tutor, and/or be involved in tertiary studies relevant to teaching.

Unlike other tutoring agencies, our tutors are educated on teaching methods that engage students and ensure that the teaching method is tailored to them. Our head coach, Nathan, actively checks in with each tutor to ensure they are managing their students well and utilising the right approach.

Years of tutoring experience from many tutors and access to online databases from esteemed schools has contributed to an extensive database of resources (tips, past exams, questions, etc.). Students of North Shore Tutors will have access to all resources for all subjects.

G - Goals: establish goals for the session

R - Rubric and resources: address the class rubric and other available resources from the teacher

O - Organise: organise a plan to tackle the assessment/topic 

W - Weaknesses: create activities that help develop weaknesses

T - Teach & Test: teach a concept and test it through practise/examples

H - Homework: small activities to consolidate learning
